Meet Mrs. Cargill

Hi, my name is Holly Cargill, and this is my third year teaching kindergarten at La Vernia Primary.  I absolutely LOVE teaching kindergarten.  Seeing your children grow into readers is the most rewarding experience.

I knew I wanted to be a teacher at 17 when I began working with Pre-K students at a local child care center.  After high school I attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education in May 2007.  I began my career in Mumford ISD teaching Pre-K, which was a great experience.  In the spring of 2011, my husband had a job opportunity in South Texas, so we moved to Seguin,  and I began the dreaded job hunt.  When I interviewed at La Vernia Primary, I knew this was the place for me.  Fortunately, the administration thought so too, and I am looking forward to another year in a fantastic district!  Also, after the move, I enrolled at Texas A&M- San Antonio, and I recently graduated with Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education.

My husband, Marcus, and I are high school sweethearts and have known each other for almost 14 years. We got married June 14, 2008, and it has been an amazing six years.  We are die hard Aggie fans, and go to every home football game to yell for our team.  We don't have any children yet, but we have a blue heeler named Gracie, and a basset hound named Lady.  We also have a great family that includes 2 nieces and 2 nephews who we love to pieces!
