Classroom Management Plan
My main goal in the classroom is to redirect
misbehavior and to teach and reinforce appropriate behavior. I want to teach
the children to manage their own behavior and actions. I will keep you informed
of your child’s behavior in their daily folder. Please sign or initial everyday
their folder daily. The
expectations and consequences are as follows:
EXPECTATIONS:
1. Follows Directions
2. Controls Voice
3. Display Self-Control
4. Respects others and
property
5. Listens and Pays
Attention
6. Completes Class work
CONSEQUENCES:
1.
Verbal
warning
2.
Color
change to yellow
3.
Color
change to red
4.
Time
out or loss of recess
*Violent or extreme behaviors will be addressed
on an individual basis between the student, parent, teacher, and principal.
Each child will
have a clothespin with their name on it on our behavior chart. We will have
four different colors for behavior.
EXPLANATION
OF COLORS:
Purple- If your child has a purple box and or sticker in his/her folder that
means they have made an excellent effort to be a great student. They will not
start at purple, but will have an opportunity to move their pin to purple for
making super choices. If they get to put their pin on purple, they will get a
prize from the treasure box! This encourages the students to go above and
beyond in our classroom.
Green- Everybody starts on green. It means they are
ready to learn. If they have a green box, that means they had a good day!
Yellow- This means your child needs to make better
choices. If they get to yellow, they will have an opportunity to move back to
green if they can fix their choices. This again reinforces positive behavior.
If they cannot fix it, they will stay at yellow or move to red.
Red- Red means that your child was given several
warnings, and still did not make better choices. If they get to red, there will
not be an opportunity to move back up, since by this time they have been given
many opportunities to do better.
It
is in your child’s best interest that we work together with regard to his/her
education, and I encourage you to
talk with your children every day and discuss their behavior, whether
it is great or needs some improvement. If you have any questions or comments,
please feel free to contact me!
Thank
you for your support. I’m looking forward to a great school year!
